This is a review for the Rogue Abrams 2.0 Glute Ham Developer. Rogue Fitness had been teasing us with the redeveloped version of the Abrams GH-1 GHD for what seemed like an eternity. I remember the picture of this beast sitting there in the “New Gear” category for two or three months; no price, no release date, nothing. I wanted one, but after a while I started to wonder if this thing actually existed, or would ever be released.
Are you looking for a little help figuring out what the difference between all the Rogue bars is without needing to make a spreadsheet and have 15 browser tabs open? If so, you have come to the right place!
Rogue Fitness has one of the most extensive collections of branded barbells around. It can be daunting trying to figure out which bar is the right bar for you. You can stare at product pages, compare numbers, and read reviews for hours; but about the time you think you’ve got a handle on all these bars, Rogue adds a couple more to the line-up, takes a few out of the line-up, and then slaps a new version number on everything else.
I do not have to tell most of you garage gym and CrossFit affiliate & gym owners where to get durable rubber flooring for not a lot of cash. That’s right, horse stall mats! Stall mats are easily your most affordable option for gym flooring; flooring that you’ll never have to replace or service, mind you.
Are you looking for the last adjustable incline bench you’ll ever need to buy? I’ve owned the Legend #3103 3-way Adjustable Incline Bench for many years now, and I have decided that I have spent more than enough time with this bench to do a review and share my thoughts on this insane, commercial-quality piece of equipment. So let’s get to it!
As promised, this is part two of my CrossFit and weightlifting New Gear for Summer post (see part one). Here is even more new gear that has been made available this summer. In celebration of the 2014 CrossFit Games, I’ll include a couple tribute product releases; one to the Games (Official Games bumper plates) and one to Rich Froning; four time Fittest on Earth champion (new Froning bars).
As some of you know, every once in a while I like to make a post just highlighting some of the exercise equipment, training gear, and miscellaneous accessories that are new to the market. Some of these highlights are just for fun, but many of the products I show you are serious pieces of gear that can potentially improve or enhance your training and/or garage gym experience.
Congratulations are in order (yet again!) to Rich Froning for winning his fourth consecutive Reebok CrossFit Games over the weekend. Are you surprised? You shouldn’t be. That man is a machine! Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet took first among the women, and CrossFit Invictus took first in the teams division.
Welcome! This is a review for the new Vulcan One Basic 28.5 mm Olympic Barbell; my very first Vulcan bar. I’m pretty excited about finally having a Vulcan bar to play around with; I’ve been researching them for some time now, and have heard many good things.

Often times when I review training equipment, a good portion of that equipment leans more on the mid-range to expensive side than the budget side. My goal has never been to imply that you simply must spend a fortune and have the absolute best equipment on the market to get solid, productive workouts at home. No, I have chosen to review the equipment that I do because I think that quality is important, and quality just costs more money.
When you first make the transition from training at a commercial gym to working out in your own home/garage gym you may experience what I like to call machine withdrawal. Machine withdrawal is when you are accustomed to utilizing a machine for any given exercise rather than using free-weights, and now you find yourself missing that machine. You may even be at a loss as to what exercise you should be doing as a free weight alternative. Oh and yes, I did in fact just make that term up.
I’ve been working out in my own private garage gym for about two years now. Prior to that, I had always been a member of one commercial mega gym or another, dishing out a monthly fee to basically rent someone else’s equipment. Even though my most recent gym contract was at a nicer gym than average, I was still always super bummed about having to go there and that took away from my excitement about training. Not a very healthy combination.
Every once in a while I like to write an article just showcasing some of the random exercise equipment, new fitness gear, and accessories I find while trolling the web. Some stuff is just for fun, but some of it can potentially be helpful or beneficial to your training program. For the most part I do this for entertainment, and I usually don’t include a lot of necessities like bars, racks, and plates – so don’t take it too seriously =)
Are you completely happy with your current training program? Are you seeing the gains you were promised? Is your program challenging or does it get stale and uber boring? Have you hit a plateau that you cannot seem to overcome? Have your goals changed to the point that your program is no longer even appropriate for you? These are all questions you should be asking yourself periodically.
Having a high protein breakfast is easier said than done. Thanks to biscuits, waffles, cereal, pancakes, and potatoes (to name a few), Western breakfast tends to be a very carb dense meal. As delicious as all these carbohydrate heavy dishes may be, most of us don’t want to start our days with so much sugar and processed flour and so little protein.
